Yesterday was “Akha teej”. Ya I know none of us knew about this until yesterday itself but thanks to the 24 hours news channel that we have got now at least we know of all the small and big religious festivals that are there in the thousands of Indian religions. The news channels keep showing about it whole day yesterday asking people to buy gold and various astrologers and so called astrologers kept blabbering something or the other. At least the jewelers community was not complaining. The special thing about this festival is that this is the only day in the calendar when people are allowed to see the feet of lord “ banke bihari” i.e. lord Krishna and not strangely though the occasion was crowdy enough for one lady to get killed in the well known banke bihari temple in town Vrindavan near Mathura city!!

Kids across the country are though getting relief in turns as the election drama 2009 moves into the third phase and wherever it goes the schools in that region are put for 1 to 3 days of mandatory leaves.

News coming in of more job cuts across the corporate industry and specially IT industry by Sep-09 wasn’t really well received by people already scared to death over potential job losses.
